The patient guardianship of capital.Carried surely from one generation to the next.
Qafila. The Caravan. The oldest form of stewardship.
Qafila Capital is the private investment office of a single family. Since 1994 we have carried capital on a long and deliberate journey, investing across public and private markets and measuring success in generations.
Where a relationship is right, it begins by introduction.
We own listed equities and high grade credit as long term holders of quality businesses and sovereign risk. Portfolios are concentrated and researched to conviction. Liquidity is held in reserve so that periods of dislocation are met from a position of strength.
We invest directly and alongside a select group of aligned partners in enduring, cash generative businesses led by owners of integrity. Our capital carries no fund horizon. We are deliberate at entry, supportive through ownership and patient until the right moment to realise value.
Land, property and infrastructure form the ballast of the house. We favour enduring locations, genuine scarcity and assets that reward careful stewardship across cycles. These holdings are measured in decades and are held to preserve purchasing power for the generations that follow.
We provide senior secured capital in situations where diligence and relationships define the terms. Structures are conservative and fully covenanted, with the preservation and return of principal placed above all else. Income is the welcome consequence of lending well.
We commit measured capital to founders building enduring enterprises at the frontier of their fields. We enter early, concentrate behind conviction and contribute the discretion, patience and access that a house of standing can provide.
We invest as stewards, not as speculators.
Our first duty is to preserve what has been entrusted to us. Our second is to compound it with patience across the generations. Capital is committed slowly and with conviction, and it is held through the cycles that reward those willing to wait.
We are guided by the values of the region from which the family takes its name. Trust is extended sparingly and honoured completely. Discretion is a matter of principle. A promise, once given, is kept. These are the terms on which we invest and the terms on which we expect to be met.
